Flip-flops?

my dad keeps telling me that flip- flops are not shoes. i constantly tell him that they are shoes. he says back that flip-flops are not shoes, they are flip- flops. i just think in my head %26#039; i guess converse aren%26#039;t shoes, they are converse. cleats are not shoes, they are cleats.%26#039; it is driving me crazy! i need ideas on how to convince him that they are shoes. i can%26#039;t be rude or else i will get my butt thrown across the room. when he thinks that he is right it is very hard to convince him otherwise. help!

Flip-flops?
Stores now require %26#039;shirt and shoes%26#039; to enter....and you CAN enter in flip flops. They are a type of shoe. They are worn on the feet and are not socks. What else could they be besides a TYPE of shoe or footwear???

Reply:Why try to convince him?...unles he bugs you about it when your wearing flip-flops,i call em thongs....lolz. Just take em off adn say dad these aren%26#039;t shoes, then put thongs on again and say dad these are shoes...end of conversation.
