Flip-flops?

Yesterday I asked if it was too early to wear flip-flops and a girl told me, %26quot;I think it still is a little to cold for flip flops. But a word of advice, I would find something other that flip flops. They are really bad 4 your feet, and even though they feel comfy, when you get older it%26#039;s more likely that you will have problems with your feet. %26quot;

How are flip-flops bad for your feet?

Flip-flops?
Nothing wrong with thongs. There%26#039;s even some of them with some built-in arch support.

Bad for your feet??? Now, don%26#039;t even get me STARTED on how bad HEELS are for your feets!!!!

watch the vidoe about flip flips. they can be bad for your feet but they arn%26#039;t always. Report It

Reply:Check out this new website. They have some nice flip flops at discount prices: http://shop2divas.ecrater.com. Report It

Reply:No, they%26#039;re OK, we%26#039;re %26quot;designed%26quot; to go barefoot, and flip-flops are the closest thing.
Reply:they dry
Reply:Hey!!

Well, I dont know if flip flops have been bad for my feet so far, but I can assure you they were really bad for my butt!!

Yeah well, my mom would whack me with one when I was naughty. Flip flops tend to leave red marks on your butt!!!
Reply:No it is not too early as long as the weather is nice. It was nice today so I wear them proudly.
Reply:the only bad thing i can think of is the way your toes kind of cluster together around the Y thing. Better off getting slides or sandals.
Reply:some believe they restrict movement when you walk because the toes are crunched to keep the shoe on
Reply:flip flops will give you cankles first off, just look at any girl that wears them a lot. Secondly they are bad for your feet because they have no arch support, the %26quot;bump%26quot; in tennis shoes that fits in the arch of your foot.
Reply:They allow your feet to get wider because there is nothing keeping the bones squished together. Also the lack of support can be bad for your arches. Flip-flops aren%26#039;t bad if you don%26#039;t wear them all the time. Have other shoe choices %26amp; wear them often.
Reply:I live in florida, and i know that all the rich/really super cool kids wear them. But its not that cold here....
Reply:Mostly, they do not offer the support your feet require - such as arch support. It also seriously depends on your feet - some people do just fine living a life in flip flops.. others have issues (such as fallen arches, fungus, dried skin, etc). The best idea? Talk to a podiatrist or a trusted shoe salesperson. The doctors and REALLY good shoe people usually have good ways of informing you of your foot make-up.

As far as too cold? That is up to each person%26#039;s tolerance. If you notice your toes feel like they are going to freeze off, then, yah - it might be too cold for you! :P
Reply:Well this isn%26#039;t really %26quot;bad%26quot; but if people step on your foot then it hurts alot... and our feet gets pretty dirty if we wear flipflops.
Reply:o my goodness! i hope they are not bad, i live in socal, i wear sandals all the time... i think too cold would depend on you, if you dont mind cold feet then wear your flippers... women wear high heels all year its the same protection...
Reply:Flip flops are great for the beach but anywhere else no.
Reply:It could be bad for the arches in your feet. The arches need some support.

Not as bad as heels though.
Reply:They don%26#039;t give you an arch.
Reply:I dont know but i think whey are good. So you wont have %26quot;Sweaty%26quot; feet lol but they look pretty i wore some today lol
Reply:They cause hammer toes if you wear them a lot your toes get used to holding the bottom of the shoe on which puts strain on them causin hammer toes
Reply:it drys your skin if too much sun gets to it.but your fine,if your not over 50.but just don%26#039;t worry, you can wear flips flops just no 24/7 thats insane.i wouldn%26#039;t wear them to early because your feet might be could and the can be purple. but that never happens unless it is like 30 degrees.
Reply:Today was the first day I broke out my flip-flop/cuteie heel archive. Today is bright red buckle open toed heels!

It depends on the day I suppose. It is March... break out!
Reply:You mean they%26#039;re not called %26quot;Kerrys%26quot; anymore?
Reply:I don%26#039;t think that%26#039;s true.

The worst part about flip-flops is that they don%26#039;t give a lot of support to your feet/arches. Maybe that%26#039;s whats bad about them.

I guess, my advice is don%26#039;t wear them 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
Reply:there%26#039;s no arch support, so wearing flip-flops everyday could cause %26quot;fallen arches%26quot; or %26quot;flat feet%26quot; which i%26#039;ve heard is quite painful. wearing them once in a while is okay, but you might want to look into other, more supportive options...but not yet! no sandals till easter/early spring!
Reply:Flip Flops are not bad for your feet as long as you don%26#039;t go buy the cheap ones at Walmart. Buy a good pair from a reputable store and you will be fine....and its NOT too early to wear flip flops!
Reply:They don%26#039;t support the arches of your feet, and for some people (like me) their arches will collapse ... and it hurts. Flip flops are okay to wear occasionally, but not everyday.
